As a classical trained harpist and autodidact composer, from the
Netherlands -
Den Haag - I am working for an young and creative company which is
founded at 2007
and called H&S
MUSIC
- productions with harp and soul -
I started
playing the harp in 1983 (concerts, background music,..) and since 2007 (after
some live changing moments & not having played the harp for 15 years!) I decided to
become a professional musician; a recording harpist, composer and music
producer.
I
play and create original&instant music and I am involved in
artfusion + multimedia
projects: for poetry/ visuals/ film/ rtv/ docus/ cartoons/
installations/ games/ choreos
remixes/ websites I compose and produce the music.
For H&S
MUSIC I
have produced cds that went on the air on podcasts and (inter)
national radio stations. The I Am A Dreamer CD has been honored with the great
indie
award 2008 for excellent production &songwriting. My compos can be heard in several
film productions, video installations, games, docus and as intro music on
websites. |

awarded at the semi- finals of the music/video contest of go! animate.

2010 the CD Then It Became Clear - india edition - has been published
and official
released 8 march 2011 in
europe/usa.
The CD has been well received by the media - radio airplay on the major radio stations and some beautiful reviews and kind
comments of the CD buyers.
The CD is instore distributed in India at all major music shops and
received airplay on the major
FM radio stations. Then It Became Clear is available via de largest national online musicshop bol.com and is instore
distributed and available in the major music shops; from
free record shop until plato in the Netherlands, Europe and USA.
On 26 march
2011 HarpAndSoulProductions signs a license agreement for audio productions with the us based company
Parma

(2011) has been airplayed at the international tv format
Bridging Heaven to Earth and has been broadcasted
on the awardwinning classical music us tv station Crescendo.
At major (inter)national film festivals and several filmhouses
(2011) the score Shall We Dance?
could be heard in a shortfilm.
FLIGHT (2011) has been honored in the Creativity Driven
Contest 2011 with an exhibition in major Berlin/Paris/London galleries.
The tracks of the Then It Became Clear CD have
been placed (2011) by PARMA licensing at DISCOVERY
CHANNEL.

Thoughts on music
life would be a mistake

'music and
in particular the harp is for me a nessessicity, like breathing to feel
alife. the music i play comes from my harp and soul: it's all about
surrender.
these rare beautiful moments of surrender are true blessings because the music
flows through me and is pure & real.
music &poetry are to me the most essential: to be touched by the unsaid.
compositions arise
sometimes while i improvise.. free improvisations are coming from my
soul and in my surrender… listening to the silence.. translated
into harp sounds .. dreaming behind my harp is to me the ultimate musical
freedom. that is why i play originals and i trust my intuition.
during free
improvisiation i show sometimes my restlessness; i pour my heart and
soul out. as an answer to my chaotic, restless mind… i compose minimal music;
almost soothing .. less is more: through a minimal note score i
intent to create a mystical, serene or intense atmosphere.'

Vanschothorst spielt darauf ihre eigenen, wunderschönen melancholischen

2009 Review CD I am a dreamer Anne van
Schothorst showcases her masterful command of the harp on I am a
Dreamer. Her music is stated
as being both improvisational and meditative. Both words do a
wonderful job of characterizing her sonic signature. The harp may convey
a wealth of
emotions if treated with the respect the instrument deserves.
This is not something a person picks up in high school; battling
practice for a while and
then gives up. The harp requires a full commitment in order to
capture its alluring sonic qualities. Von Schothorst has apparently
committed herself
full-time to her instrument, as the sounds on I am a Dreamer are
exquisite. The tonality here is one of relaxation and, as she puts it
herself: Meditative.
The title track displays both her control and amazing ability to slow
things down or speed them up while retaining tranquil musical energy.
"Anticipation"
and "Winter" are also great examples of this skill set. This music could
be at home in television and film soundtracks or a yoga retreat. Fans of
the Cyber
Octave label, or perhaps even Tom Vedvik should check out this record.

is entirely improvisational, enabling Anne to take a theme, or a
previously
composed piece of music, turn it on its head and make it uniquely hers.
Anne successfully conveys the emotions of each song solely through the
harp,
and the songs on I am a dreamer take the listener into a dreamlike state,
perfect for introspection, meditation and outright relaxation. This
album is also
well-produced and sounds great, with each note clear and crisp.Snowwhite
bird opens the album with beautiful high notes and introduces the
listener to
Anne’s sheer talent. Bonjour tristesse,literally hello sadness,provokes
the emotion through the vibration of the harp strings.I am a dreamer is
filled with
great classical and improvisational harp compositions from Anne van
Schothorst with great calming effects. Fans of talented, relaxing harp
progressions
and classical music, will find this album to be a nice addition.

Liefde is als het
verlangen om verlangd te kunnen worden je zo sterk pakt dat
je eraan kunt sterven.
In deze donkere maanden wil je toch niets liever dan je opkrullen op de
bank met je boek, koekjes
en poes ernaast. Mocht je dan nog wat geluid willen horen zet dan deze
CD op. Dat is namelijk niet zomaar ‘geluid’; Het
zijn prachtige, dromerige klanken
van de harpiste Anne van Schothorst. Met nu en dan het geluid
van vogeltjes of de zee kom je bijna in een meditatieve
stemming. Helder en lieflijk,
omhullend en indrukwekkend. Het zijn op zich eenvoudige
melodieen met veel herhaling, maar daardoor krijgen ze de
kracht van een mantra.
Voor je het weet is het je favoriete cd en staat hij de hele dag op!
